My Philosophy
Hi, I’m Garnet.
I’m the founder of An Eye for Detail, an interior decorating service focused on creating spaces that feel like home.
My approach starts with what you already own. Rather than pushing unnecessary purchases, I work by rearranging and reimagining your existing space. Then, only if needed and wanted, I will thoughtfully supplement pieces that add value to your space. The result is a home that feels intentional, sustainable, and supportive of your day-to-day life and habits.
I am especially passionate about helping people who feel overwhelmed by their spaces. I create environments that support emotional regulation, comfort, and self-expression, while still feeling cohesive and practical for the whole household.
I like to begin by getting to know you. Your favorite colors, animals, hobbies. Show me your favorite outfit, describe your dream oasis. I will center you around all decorating decisions. I believe in sustainability and accessibility.
I believe your home should work with you, not against you.
Based in Fort Collins, Colorado, I work with clients on projects ranging from small organizational refreshes and restyled focal points, to full-home redecorating. Every space is approached with care, curiosity, and an eye for detail.
I look forward to working with you.
Beyond An Eye for Detail
Born and raised in New Jersey, I grew up surrounded by artists. My mother, a self-made interior decorator, started her business to support our family. I spent my early years learning everything she had to teach.
I later spent ten years in retail as a merchandising manager, where I was sent from store to store to redesign layouts and displays to improve sales and the overall shopping experience. That work sharpened my ability to create spaces that are not only beautiful, but intuitive and functional.
In 2020, I came out to Colorado to pursue my education. I graduated Colorado State University with a double bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences and Health & Exercise Science along with a double minor in Chemistry and Philosophy.
Outside of decorating, I run marathons (just finished my 10th!), train for amateur powerlifting competitions, explore new crafts, spend time with my dog, Charlie and my cat, Betty. I have a particular fondness for teapots, elephants, miniature things, and flowers.
Some of my favorite decorating projects include styling bookcases, themed playrooms and bedroom for children, and full-home redecorating.
I have specific experience with neurodivergent individuals. I love finding organizational solutions, creating unique and accessible sensory tools, and safe spaces for regulation and relaxation. Inclusivity, accessibility, and sustainability are core values in both my work and home life.
